I am 23 years old and currently live in Suffolk County, NY. I am a third-year law student and expect to graduate in December 2020. I will spare the theatrics in saying that "all I've wanted to do is become a LEO," however, it has been the foundation of my entire education (CJ Major focused on cybercrime and juvenile justice). Throughout my time in University, I have held internships with the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office and Suffolk County District Court. I was also a member of the Suffolk County Police Explorers for several years.
Long story short, while waiting for service exams to open, law school seemed like the next best choice (thankfully, the debt isn't through the roof). Unfortunately, as graduation nears closer, I am beginning to realize that lawyering might not be the career for me and that my real interest is back in law enforcement. I have taken the New York State Trooper Exam and scored a 98.6 and was #1406 on the list to be called, however, I had passed on the position as I wanted to finish my law school career (I really didn't expect to get this high of a grade). I have also taken the Suffolk County Police Officer Exam and scored a 95 yielding a #1635 lottery number. I am registered to take both the Suffolk County Sheriff Deputy Exam and Suffolk County Court Officer Exam when the COVID outbreak subsides.
I have been told that I was an idiot for passing up on the trooper opportunity, but I believe that having a law degree would outweigh the negative by opening the door to federal agencies.
I am asking for your help/recommendations in which direction to take. I have spent several hours searching online, yet find myself coming right back to the same location..... stuck. Has anyone received their law degree and then applied for a law enforcement career? Has it had any benefit in finding a career? Finally, I would really like to be able to put my J.D. to use, has anyone taken a back-end law enforcement job such as an analyst or investigator with any agency?
Hi. The service https://law-mind.co.uk/law-personal-statement helped me to finish law school. I could not understand some subjects myself and decided to turn to a tutor. So this service helped me pass all the exams. They prepared me very well. Now i'm a graduate
